With restaurants closing down their dine-in services and only offering delivery and take out options due to the global pandemic, tablescaping seems to have taken the social media and food enthusiasts by storm. The idea is to spend some quality time with your loved ones or yourself and turn your routine at-home dinner into a lavish and refined restaurant-style experience. Where Did I Get The Items From?
You’ll be surprised to know how conveniently you can manage to find all the items needed for creating your tablescapes, even if you’re on a budget. You don’t necessarily need to invest hundreds of dollars in buying expensive products to make your dining table look presentable.
For starters, you can visit a dollar store near you to hunt for cheap plates, vases, candles, and other table ornaments. A dollar store might seem like the last place you’d want to look for while designing your tablescape, but it can offer you plenty of hidden treasures to work with. I was lucky enough to get my hands on these stunning glass plates. What I love the most about these plates is that they are dishwasher-safe. I also found some really beautiful vases to put all the floral arrangements in. These vases transformed the entire set-up and made my table look like 1 million bucks. A dollar store is definitely your best bet if you’re looking for an inexpensive alternative to spending a lot of money on extravagant dinnerware and decorations. You can even order items in bulk from a dollar shop to achieve the same ambiance for bigger parties, such as weddings and corporate dinners.
I got my table runner from Amazon for $14 and the napkins were available at HomeGoods at a discounted price of $4. Also, I found the napkin holders on Amazon too for $9. The charger plates were also on sale at AC Moore and cost me only $4. So, the total cost of decorating my tablescape was less than $40. Who would have thought you can design such an elaborate and eye-catching tablescape in less than 40 bucks? Well, I really had a great time shopping for all these exquisite yet affordable items.
My Final Thoughts!
No matter if you’re aiming to throw a birthday party, arrange a wedding reception, or have an intimate family feast, setting your own tablescapes is a great idea to make your event more special and personalized, especially during the current pandemic. The key to setting a gorgeous-looking tablescape is getting creative within your budget and keeping things minimal and classy.
